All of those guys a pretty fucking stupid. There is a double solid yellow line for a reason, its not remotely fucking safe to pass there. Hell they ran a Jeep off the road just before the dude crashed too.

"Definitely close the lesser of two Evels."
I see what you did there!
You meant that right?

That was a really terrible spot to try to pass also.

oh man, that noise he is making is just too real. Ouch. It would have been way worse if he hit head on though. What a dipshit.

I watched a few times, and (to me) it didn't look like there was anyone to pass when he went over the yellow line.
I'm guessing he was carrying too much speed after his last pass, and underestimated the corner and went wide.
Maybe I need to watch it another time, but that's what I saw.

Stroke of luck #2.

The whole video i was trying to figure out how anybody would be dumb enough to try to pass on that road and get in the same lane as the riders.
Then the bike stopped and I realized that the rider was the idiot.

Amateur film reenactment?

Holy crap. The motorcycle being shoved up his ass when he hit the "jump" probably hurt as much as when he landed.

Yeah, that's a pretty big bump. I wouldn't be surprised if the tank/bars broke a few ribs when it came up to meet him. Probably ripped the bars right out of his hands.
I want to see the footage from his camera.
I hope he makes a full recovery.

To be fair, only some of them passed on a double yellow. Most of them did it legally, although I think that was just a coincidence and they were blindly following the first guys.
And, not that I support squidditude, they would have been much safer passing on the shoulder. It was wide enough to do so.

Looks like he carried too much speed into the turn and ran wide over the line. Saw the oncoming traffic and went into panic mode, in addition to target fixating. This most likely included chopping the throttle and/or grabbing at the front brake. Doing so causes the bike to stand up.
The "correct" thing to do in this situation would be to look into the turn where you want to go and give it more throttle. They weren't any where close to using up all available grip / lean angle / speed.
Hope the guy recovers, and everybody learns something as a result. As is the usual with situations like this, these guys need to check their egos and go to a track if they wanna go fast.

I want to see the video as well, but not so sure I'll be able to handle the sound.

Two wheels bad.

After watching it a bunch of times, I think this is probably accurate. He was focused on keeping up with the pack, and carried too much speed into a tighter radius he wasn't expecting.

Two wheels bad? Try NO wheels bad!

Upon further reflection I think you are right! That looked like it hurt.

Remind me of the noise I made when suffering a very bad knee dislocation. Just agony, and you know that "things ain't right".

Looks like he had a camera on. I want to see that footage.

I don't think anyone's said this yet, but OH FUCK.

Based on the gravel, off the road right before the 'sweet ramp', I'm thinking there must have been gravel on the road near the yellow lines. To me, it looks like the rear washed out to the left, which would have caused a low-side or a high-side depending on grip. (He would have hit the truck in either case.) I think he corrected himself (stayed upright), just in time for that cunning stunt.

Guy clearly riding beyond his ability and freaked out when he thought he couldn't make the corner at the speed he was at.
